Blackwell Learning
Blackwell Learning is an eBook platform which runs alongside their academic book stores throughout the UK.
The back-end was built using Django and celery with PostgreSQL and an object store for storage. Different cloud services providers were used to ensure data was backed-up sufficiently.
Some of the most complex parts involved building the eBook processing backend that could deal with the variety of different data formats from the publishers and output them in a consistent format. Comprehensive CI and unit/functional testing contributed to the success of the project.
